Community members of varying backgrounds and age-groups were invited to view an exhibition of drawings I did during my first three weeks in Rauma. I chose not to explain the content of the images and instead gave them a questionnaire that I asked them fill out whilst looking at the pictures.
The questions were:

  • Do these pictures remind you of personal experiences you've had?
  • Do they remind you of other events or stories you have heard about/read?
  • Do they remind you of any dreams you have had?
  • Do you relate them to any particular place?
  • What kind of feelings do you have when looking at these pictures?
  • Do you feel associated with any characters found in the drawings?
  • Can you imagine a story based on all or one of the drawings you have seen?

Based on the answers I was given, I then developed stories and scripts to be made into a series of short films. I collaborated with some young people to work as a film crew and actors, from the local region,
Most people's answers were rather vague so a lot of imaginative prowess was used in creating the final pieces.
